We're Moving...again.

I have so many fun blog posts swimming in my head...pictures of this and that from the summer etc. but unfortunately I only have time tonight to post our new address. Yes, we are sad to be leaving our lovely "country" home but the owner has decided to move back from Massachusetts. Tonight is actually our last night in this house. But, God has provided another lovely home for us to live in. We will be living in Princeville and will be trading our country life with goats and chickens for life in a nice subdivision that is walking distance from the grocery store, the library, the park, and restaurants. So, in case you are just dying to send us a letter ;) our new address is:

And for the record, we hope this move will be the last move for a while! Trust me, three moves in so many years is not my idea of fun! Oh, and Praise God, our new home will have a guest room so....come visit! =)

My Water Babies

Well, two of them are water babies anyway. Based on the picture, any guess as to which one isn't as much of a water baby? =)

Well...

I guess if she's going to refuse to go potty in it she may as well use it as a snack bowl...

 This morning Elizabeth fetched the bag of raisins from the pantry (have I mentioned that she is obsessed with raisins?!), carried them into the bathroom, dumped some into her toilet, lifted the basin out and proceeded to carry it around the house as if it were a snack bowl. Don't worry, despite the toilet being out and available for the last two+ months she has yet to use it for its intended purpose.

Shall we call it resourcefulness? 

Fourth of July

A few months back Great Grandma bought Lizzie this darling sailor outfit and we've been waiting for the perfect occasion for her to wear it. Since Sunday was the 3rd of July we decided to all dress in red, white, and blue. She looked really cute and it was especially fun to see her with Great Grandma who just happened to be dressed in a sailor suit of her own! =)

 And Lizzie just loves her Grandma!

On the morning of the fourth we headed to the beach and when we arrived at Kalihiwai there were only a half a dozen cars. This picture shows just how empty the beach was! By the time we left (3 hours later) there was not a parking spot to be had and the beach was peppered with people. 

While we waited for Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Lucas to arrive, Daniel and the boys went exploring out on the rocks (the little body that you see on the left is Aden and the bigger body that you see on the right is Daniel).

The one holiday of the year where my everyday dishes work to make the table festive!

We had steak, seven-layer salad, and french bread for dinner and Carolyn made a homemade pumpkin pie for dessert. Yum!

And in between dinner and fireworks we squeezed in a game of croquet. 

I don't know how many times I (and Grandma and Carolyn and...) said, "Jonathan, stop swinging your club in the air! You're going to hurt someone!" Ai yai yai, crazy child!

And for the record, Grandma (at 87 years of age) plays a mean game of croquet! I was impressed!

It was a great day! Happy 4th of July!

Dog Houses, Puzzles, and Guns

The "dog house" that kept them happy and occupied for more than two hours one morning.

And remember the baby gate in the window from this post? Well, with the awesome breezes that blow through that window the gate has proven to be a very efficient drying rack as well as a safety device. Do you see it in the upper left hand corner? Um, redneck?

For being such good doggies I gave them each a "biscuit" (in the form of a snicker-doodle).

This has been one of her favorite toys for months now. She plays with it every day.

Can you hear her saying "cheese!"?

This is her naughty, mischievous look that says, "Maybe if I do it slowly Mom won't notice that I'm pulling the bow out of my hair." She is such a stinker in the hair tie/bow department and ends up looking so unkempt most of the time because of it!

My mom made her this little summertime romper with some seersucker fabric that Carla had given me. It turned out really cute and Lizzie likes it because it had berries and butterflies on it.

One morning last week the boys and I decided to have a puzzle marathon. We managed to put together all but three of their puzzles before it was time for lunch and naps. I think this picture is only missing one or two completed puzzles. It was fun!

Lucas stayed with us for a couple of days while Dave and Carolyn went to Oahu to celebrate their anniversary. We had a great time! Here he is helping prune the palms with the boys. 

This picture cracks me up. Jonathan has his new revolver (thanks Auntie Rebekah!) and is either protecting the princess or holding her hostage, I can't tell. Either way they were having fun! I so enjoy watching them play and have fun together.

Any of you have followed this blog for any length of time know that Aden loves yard work and yard work equipment. This mower was a Christmas gift back in 2008 and it has been played with every day since. Seriously, every day. Sadly, the same day that I took this picture the mower was left out on the grass (out of view from the drivers seat of the van) and I ran over it. So sad. =(

A toy gun in one hand and a princess plate in the other. Yep, that pretty much sums her up.

Can you see the nifty "Junior Special Agent" badge the Rebekah sent him? The boys each got one (along with a new gun) and they were pretty stoked!
