We love Grandma!

My sweet mom arrived on September 1st and stayed with us for an entire month working tirelessly to keep our house running smoothly (cooking, running errands, bathing the boys, playing with the boys, cleaning the house, doing laundry, etc. etc.!) as my energy dwindled those last two weeks of pregnancy and once sleep deprivation set in after Elizabeth's arrival. Mom did so much to help us and we are so very thankful for her love and sacrifice. She blessed us in so many ways and we miss her tremendously!

I took this picture of her and the kids in the Wal-Mart parking lot minutes before we dropped her off at the airport to head back to California. It's a good thing I took the picture then because once we got to the airport, we were all tears! Thank you so much Mom! And thank you Jesse for letting us have her for so long! We love you both!

Crafty Girls

Mom and I were inspired by this idea that we found in a decorating book and decided to try it out to add some color to Elizabeth's walls.

I had a lot of fabric scraps from previous projects that matched her room decor amazingly well. We did have to buy a few fabric remnants as well as some ribbon, rickrack, and buttons. We covered framed art canvas with fabric and then designed, sewed, and glued different shapes onto the fabric to give it an appliqued look.

The designs we created were modeled after the designs on her crib bumper and rug...except for the sun...that was just for fun =)

We had a lot of fun and they turned out really cute....

...and we figure we have about 8 months before Elizabeth figures out how easily they can come off the wall! =)

She's Here!

On Wednesday, September 16th, 2009 at 7:28pm we welcomed little Elizabeth Kelly Moore to this world! She weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was 21 inches long. She's just precious and we are so thankful for our sweet, healthy, beautiful baby girl.

Baby Update

Well, today is September 15th...(the "more accurate" due date that I gave myself based on cycle length, etc.) and I figured it was about time to post a belly picture. Sorry it has taken me 9+ months =) This was taken about a week ago...it's not the best shot but it's all I've got!

So, I've been having mild contractions since Friday but as of yesterday morning I was still 0% effaced and not at all dialted. The doctor was surprised but I wasn't since this is how it was with my boys. The only difference this time around is that my water hasn't broken! Anyway, I am scheduled to go in for an induction tomorrow morning (Wednesday 9/16.) I am to arrive at 7:15 am Hawaii time (10:15 am CA time) but since they'll have to give me medication to soften my cervix (which took 6+ hours with Aden) before they can start the pitocin (sp?) drip my guess is that we won't be meeting this sweet little one until late Wednesday or early Thursday. Of course, anything is possible...I could go into labor as soon as I click "Publish Post" and this would all be old news =) We'll defintely keep you posted!

I have several posts that I plan to add soon. Unfortunately the power source on my computer malfunctioned and we have been waiting for over a week for the new part to come. So, once again I have been without a computer for several days except for small windows in the evening or real early in the mornings (like now, I think it is just after 5 am in Hawaii) where I can use Daniel's laptop. Hey, I couldn't sleep anyway...might as well get up and blog, right?

Anyway, I better go. Daniel is ready to leave for work and needs his computer. I will blog more just as soon as I get the chance!

Caught Up...Hooray!

Between last night and this morning I posted 10 new posts on our blog. After a 6 week hiatus I have returned to the blogging world and am happy to say that I am finally "caught up." Birthday Time!

Yesterday our sweet Jonathan turned 2! We had a "truck-theme" birthday party for him on Sunday afternoon. We had a really nice time and Jonathan was all smiles. He loved it!

Here he is sporting his darling Mickey Mouse ears birthday hat that Grandma and Grandpa got for him when they were on the mainland.

We sent out little postcard invitations that invited people to "Come have a 'load' of fun at Jonathan's 2nd Birthday Party!"

We loaded up the back of one of Jonathan's dump trucks with brownies (yes, I thoroughly cleaned it first!) and then drizzled hot fudge over the top. We served the "dirt" a la mode =)
It was quite yummy!

Jonathan was just as excited about this wrapping paper as he was about the gifts inside!

For party favors we gave the kids construction truck stickers and construction truck matchbox cars. Thanks Grandma Snow for hunting those things down for us!

In addition to all of his gifts Jonathan really enjoyed all of his birthday cards. He likes to look at them and talk about the pictures on the cards, etc.

Auntie Rebekah, Uncle Jakey, and Auntie Stacy got Jonathan this cool basketball hoop. The boys love it (and Mommy does too!) but the cutest thing is that Jonathan's "basketball" of choice is his football! Silly boy!

Here is the motorcycle that Grandma and Grandpa Snow got for Jonathan. It's perfect for my motorcycle-loving boy! Now he can ride a motorcycle just like Grandpa Jesse!

Aden's First Day of Preschool

The Preschool at Kauai Christian Academy opened last week and because Daniel is the principal our kiddos can attend school at KCA for free! We decided to start Aden two days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and his first day was last Thursday. He loved it!

Miss Connie is very sweet and Aden immediately took to her. He came home that first day, grabbed his ukuele, and started singing a new song, "I love preschool, I love preschool..."

The new preschool building won't be ready for a few more weeks so for now they are meeting in an empty classroom at the school. Miss Connie had it set up so nicely. Lots of color, lots of toys, lots of music...Aden feels very comfortable there.

When asked which cubbie he wanted Aden made a bee-line for the ORANGE (of course) cubbie that was front and center. His is the one with the Pooh backpack in it.

Right now there are only 5 kids in the class but starting September 1st there will probably be closer to 10.

I'll keep you posted on how it's all going. For now, Aden is VERY excited about school and I am enjoying my Tuesday and Thursday morning one-on-one time with Jonathan.
