Fun Times with Family and Friends

As I mentioned in my last post we spent a week up in Roseville while Daniel took his 9th grade students on a Grand Canyon Rafting trip. It was a great week! The weather was beautiful and we got to do a lot of fun things!

Grandma got the boys their very first Easter baskets. Fun books, soft bunnies, and marshmallows and M & M's at 8:00 in the morning...I think the baskets were a hit! She also made them these darling monkey pajamas!

Just a cute shot of my two monkeys

My little Easter cutie pie...all dressed up and ready to hunt!

"Come Mommy, et's go ook for eggs." (He doesn't have the "L" sound down yet)

Jonathan loved the egg hunt! He didn't even know that the eggs had goodies in them! He just enjoyed finding the eggs and adding them to his collection. The other children had long since moved on to other activities and there was Jonathan scouring the yard for more eggs. It was pretty cute to see him so focused on something.

As you can see he had quite a basketful!

On Monday, my mom and the boys and I met my Dad and Carla for breakfast and then we headed over to one of Roseville's elite shopping centers called "The Fountains." And fountains they have! Aden (my water baby) LOVED the play area and quickly made friends with all the other children. He's so cute...he calls ALL other kids his "friends."

Jonathan (my not-so-water baby) on the other hand was a little nervous with the idea of water shooting up out of the ground and was content to watch from the safety of the stroller. I'm hoping his apprehension for all things water related (sprinklers, pools, hot tubs, hoses, etc.) is just a phase. He loves the bathtub...go figure!? If you look closely you'll notice that Jonathan's swim trunks are a bit big and Aden's are a bit small. Hmm...well, my sweet dad (a.k.a. Grandpoo) got them dressed =) In his defense the boys are nearly the same size! It was definitely an honest mistake...one that their own father makes often!

They had a little train and Grammy and Aden and Jonathan and I went for a ride!

On Wednesday my roommates from college came over to my mom's house for lunch and a playdate. It was great to see everyone! Here is a shot of everyone (minus Jonathan, who was napping.) Thanks girls for making the trip!

My brother, the rock star! =) My brother Mike is in a band and on Wednesday night my mom and I put the boys to bed (and left them home with Grandpa Jesse) so we could head off to see the band play. They did a great job and it was fun to see my brother doing something that he enjoys so much! It was also pretty neat to see my brother up there with his buddy Jeff...they've been jamming together since they were in junior high!

Grandma reading bedtime stories with her "babies."

On Friday Miranda and her kiddos came over to play. It was great to see them! It's awesome that they live so close to my mom. What a blessing to get to see Miranda whenever I'm in town! Here's Saylor and Aden in the hot tub. And no, Aden doesn't normally swim in an infant floatie device. We had it out for Ranger but Aden thought it was great fun to play in. Nevermind that he exceeded the weight limit by about 10 pounds!

Surprise Surprise, Jonathan is playing NEAR the water but not IN the water. I tried to put him in and he immediately started crying! What a goose!

Ranger and Jonathan had fun splashing in Grandma's fountain though!

Here's Aden and Ranger dukin' it out for the last tidbits off snack. Although no one is really looking at the camera I thought this was a cute shot. I can't believe how big everyone is getting and it's fun to think that in about 6 months they'll be two more little ones to add to the Moore/Sheldon "sofa photo" line-up.

We also went shopping, did yard work (perAden's request), visited the Folsom Zoo, and a few other fun things that I didn't manage to "document" with photos. Overall we had a wonderful time and can't wait for our next visit to Roseville!

Lots of Posts

In case you're wondering why I have posted 5 posts since yesterday...Daniel leaves Sunday for his Grand Canyon rafting trip so the boys and I are heading up to Roseville tomorrow and we'll all be gone for a week. I knew if I didn't get these things posted now, it wouldn't happen. So, enjoy the pictures, have a wonderful Easter and we'll see you in a week!

Easter Eggs

This is the first time we've ever dyed eggs with the kids. I hadn't bothered in previous years because I felt like the kids were too little to really participate anyway. Well, this year the boys loved it! They were fascinated with the dye and the eggs and the process in general. They had a lot of fun and I'm so glad we did it.

Of course, Aden's favorite dyed egg was the orange one!

Jon Jon wanted to hold all of the eggs. Thank goodness they were hard-boiled! I think he cracked three or four in his excitement!

The boys had fun getting quizzed on their colors by Auntie Stacy. She'd say, "Which one is yellow, etc.?" Jon Jon just learned how to say "purple" and apparently he likes the way it sounds because he declared nearly all the colors "pur-pol!"

Auntie Stacy and Uncle Jakey spent the day with us yesterday. They watched the boys while Daniel and I went to the Ultrasound appointment and then the six of us enjoyed an early Easter dinner together. Fun times!

Cowboys and Knights

Grandma & Grandpa Moore sent these darling dress-up costumes for the boys along with some Easter goodies. The boys love them and they make such cute cowboys and knights! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa!

I love it! He's armed with a gun in one hand and a pacifier in the other!

What a doll!

Mr. Imagination found that the garbage can lid doubles nicely as a "shield."

It's a good thing he had a costume on to cover up (or at least distract you from) that funky nap outfit...an orange, gray, and navy striped shirt with red and royal blue Batman pajama bottoms! Yikes!

Rain Boots and Umbrellas

A while back, Grandma and Grandpa Moore sent the boys these darling rain boots and although the boys both enjoy wearing them around the house regardless of the weather they were excited to actually try them out in the rain. This picture was taken earlier this week...I know, I know, seeing that Easter is this Sunday it's probably about time to put away the Christmas pajamas!

A Day With Andrew

The Drollingers were in town last weekend and we were blessed with the opportunity to spend the afternoon with them on Sunday. Aden had a great time and on the way home he said, "Mommy, I have fun with my best buddy Andrew!"

The Buddies

"This California sun on my face feels so good!"

Water wings...what a great invention!

Maddie Girl getting suited up!

Getting ready for a big jump

The water was freezing! It's amazing to me that kids can have so much fun swimming despite chattering teeth, blue lips, and goose bumps!

They were "fishing" in the swimming pool. Of course, all of us parents were on the edge of our seats just waiting for one of them to topple into the water head first! Fortunately the afternoon was incident free.

What a cutie!

Andrew, Maddie, Aden, and Katie Grace

Sweet Jon Jon was napping for the majority of the time but he had a great time joining in with the "big kids" once he woke up.

Three little BOYS...

would have been fun BUT we are thrilled to announce that it's looking like this one's a GIRL! SO FUN! I say "it's looking like" because the technician was not 100% certain and recommended that we ask for a follow-up ultrasound a few weeks from now. However, I have seen two little boy ultrasounds and this one certainly seemed different! We'll let you know if things change but for now we're going for the "It's a GIRL!" announcement! Yay!
